Retiring On A Military Pension Case Studies

This page contains all of the Retiring on a Military Pension case studies. Click the graphic to visit the case study.

All of these case studies were conducted with real US military members, verified by yours truly. They provide me the details about their financial situation and budget, and I use that information to assess whether they would be able to maintain their current standard of living using just a military pension, a military pension plus their own passive and residual income from investments, or if they would need to continue working after their military retirement.

The purpose of these case studies is to:

  1. Show that retiring on a military pension is possible;
  2. Provide ideas to the subject to help them guide their future planning; and
  3. Provide lessons to the rest of us that can help us secure our own financial independence

As a reminder, I am not a personal finance professional. You should not be making life-changing decisions based on what you see in this blog. It’s merely a way to get you thinking about what is possible. If you want professional help, I recommend contacting a certified financial planner, preferably one who abides by fiduciary duty. You can read my full disclaimer here.

If you want to be considered for a case study, please send me a message via my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MilitaryDollar/ or via email at militarydollar@militarydollar.com
