My normal Monday post will be up shortly, but I wanted to take a moment to recognize today.
The majority of people in the military today were not in the military on September 11, 2001. That means they voluntarily joined after the world changed. After the military went from a relatively safe (compared to today) employment opportunity to one where you might be deployed to a combat zone every other six months.
Those that were already in the military on September 11 saw everything change in a day. They were the first to defend our country in Afghanistan. We owe them a debt of gratitude we cannot repay.
I’m looking at the Pentagon as I write this. I’ve sat in the chapel and in the memorial dedicated to all the lives that were lost that day.
God bless the victims. God bless our first responders. God bless our military. God bless America.
